Pastisio? Moussaka?

I literally came here to say Moussaka. Had a really nice one last night. Was spiced with cinnamon, which I’ve never had one like that before.

You mean… Like thin layers of potato mash and mince, instead of pasta and mince? Or you mean like a mince between two thick layers of pasta sheets?

I’m not sure, I just feel like I am craving the baby of those two, whatever form that takes

I think it would be cheese on top of pasta sheet layered with mashed potato so creamy it’s practically a sauce, on top of ground meat/ mince mixed with tomato & vegetable sauce.

Pomme purée would do well there

Be the change you want to see.

Like shepherds pie but sheets of lasagna noodles in the filling? Seems easy enough

Yes, I’ve done this. It was my immediate thought the first time I made Shepherd’s Pie. I just did Lasagna, but mashed potatoes instead of ricotta and other cheeses, and beef/gravy instead of pork/marinara. Pretty great.

Actually, the main draw for me is having potato, marinara, and beef all in one, maybe cheese but mainly the first three. Hearty af

Gravy is an intereresting take. If theres cheese it could also be like a poutine thrown into the mix in a way

What do you think of mixing tomato-based something with beef gravy, I feel like thats similar to vegatable beef which is delicious so I think it could work

Never did a lasagna cross, but make Mexican Shepherds Pie all the time. Taco meat, potatoes, cheese with crumbled nacho chips on top.
